SELLER COMMENTS

We've had the cottage for 18 years. When we bought it, Sandy Hook had a reputation for being "in the boonies", when in actuality, it's 8 minutes from downtown Sechelt. Over the years, people have realized the beauty and uniqueness of the community, and when people move out there, they stay out there. The neighbourhood views are unparalleled to anywhere on the Coast. There are two private, warm beaches less than a 10 min walk from the cottage.

The community is sandwiched between Porpoise Bay Provincial Park, the Tetrahedron Mountain range, and the calm-waters of Sechelt Inlet reaching all the way up to Skookumchuck Narrows. The hiking and watersports opportunities are endless, and almost right from your doorstep.

The open floorplan from of the cottage makes the small footprint of the place feel so much bigger.

In the winter, sitting next to the crackling woodstove, listening to the rain drumming on the vaulted cedar roof while dinner cooks. In the spring and fall, our favorite place to be in is the living room, napping on the couch, sun spilling through the skylight. And in summer? Definitely outdoors, either on the big front deck, or at the private, sandy beach at the end of Porpoise drive.

Features? Definitely the hot tub nestled into the forest. The house was built at the front of the property, so the view of the private forest behind will never change - it's all yours. Going between the hot tub and beach stone shower to cool off is the ultimate way to relax.

Recent Updates: There's been many recent updates to the cottage. Much of the deck has been replaced and refinished and the house painted this year. The roof and skylights were replaced, a new woodstove installed, new kitchen counters and appliances, new interior and exterior doors, carpet replaced and hardwood refinished, all less than three years ago. It's totally move-in ready.

What we love most? The cottage is a Panabode - a brand of cedar log home that they've been building since the 1940s. Cedar is perfectly suited to our climate and is maybe the most durable material out there to build houses out of. But aside from that, it looks, and smells, amazing. So as odd as it seems, it's the smell of that cottage that we will never forget. We love it so much that we will be building another Panabode on our new property.
