“Giggle ’n Bloom opened in Gibsons just over 8yrs ago, but the idea started a little before that, when my youngest was born in 2007.  My sister had a similar store at the time, in Cranbrook, and was sending us all sorts of wonderful gifts for both my girls, and I realized that there wasn’t really much on the coast offering high quality, unique products for kids and their families.  What started as a whim of an idea, started to become a reality just 2yrs later.  Having recently been widowed, I needed a job where I could set my own hours and bring my girls to work with me when needed.  I had never even worked in retail!  But I loved the products, believed in them, and the business just grew.  I’ve loved connecting with other moms and families on the coast through G’nB, and my girls have grown up there too (and sometimes run the till!).  Hardly a day goes by where we don’t get a customer thank us for being here, and telling us how much they love it.

As they have grown, my girls (now 13 & 11!) have found an incredible passion for dance (and in the process, mine has returned), and the dance studio has become our second home, giving us less time for our little store.  As much as G’nB holds such a special place in our hearts, I’m hoping another family can find it will be a great fit for them, and give it the love that has kept it’s heart beating along with all the families on the grow, here on the coast.”   - Chelsea Minatsis
